You will need a little box , some paper and some cardstock.
Image

Firstly you need to cover the box....I have used Echo Park Springtime floral fun paper to cut 3 squares to cover the top of the lid, the inside of the lid and the base of the box. Glue these 3 pieces to the box first. Take a measurement now of the inside base of your box (and make it a bit smaller). You will need this to move on with the project while our paint is drying. Mine is a bit over 3" x 3" square so I will use 3" x 3".
Image

I have then roughly put some paint on the outer and inner sides of the lid and the same on the bottom of the box. If you don't want to paint, then just cover each side of the box with the paper just be careful to glue it down well, especially along the edges and if the paper you use to cover the sides of the base of the box is too thick then your lid may not fit or be very tight. You could also just cover the whole of the lid and paint the bottom of the box. I've added more colour to the edges by painting over it again in another colour. (I have painted very roughly as I wanted the pink of the original box to show through).

Pop the box aside for awhile and we'll move onto the inside of the box. I've used Kraft cardstock and cut three 3" wide strips (this is the measurement I took for the inside base of my box). Join the strips together to make one long strip.....just overlap about 1/2" and glue firmly, then I've scored across the strip at 3" intervals.

Then simply fold up concertina style.
Image

Now you can go ahead and decorate each section....don't think about it too much, just go ahead and have fun. You will need to do both sides of the concertina strip except for the underneath of the first square on the bottom of the concertina as this will glue into the box.
Image

I've used EP Springtime Journalling cards paper as some of the smaller ones fit perfectly on my 3 x 3 squares and then I've used bits of the EP ]springtime border strips. Try to cover your joins with either a decorative strip or a full piece of paper on the particular squares and you can add a little ribbon or taggy thing to the end one so it can be used to pull the concertina up.

I've done a fair bit of doodling (frames etc) and little journalling spots. Now once you have decorated your strip (both sides) you can then add photos and journalling or leave 'til you have some. Quite a few years back I took heaps of photos of flowers, some from our place and some from my Mum's and most of them have sat on a disc ever since, so I decided to use my little Springtime box for some of these. I've also added some paint to the strip now that the photos are in.
Image

Back to the box.....now that the paint is dry, I have run the ink pad mainly over the painted parts on the outside to pick up the grooves and bumps that the messy painting left. I've also given it a coat of matte varnish.
Image

You can now glue your decorated strip into the bottom of the box if you have added photos and journalling, otherwise it might be best not to glue it in until you have the photos etc for it. Might be a bit hard to do this once the strip is attached.
Image

Now just add some decorations or a title to the box and you're done.
