Creating some Card Backgrounds. I enjoyed making and embellishing these and I thought I'd show you the steps I took.
Step 1 Trim your paper to 4 x 5 3/4 inches. This will be your card base. Tear a piece of dress pattern paper slightly bigger than your card base. I was inspired to pull out my dress pattern paper by the print on the Fancy pants paper which is now out of stock.
Step 2 Cover the paper with glue and add the dress pattern to it, scrunching as you go.
Step 3 Add a piece of torn doily.
Step 4 Cover the lot with and uneven coat of white paint, leaving areas of the card base with a lighter coat of paint.
Step 5 Ink up a background stamp and stamp onto your card base.
Step 6 Ink the edges and some areas of the card base.
Step 7 Embellish and add to your folded card.
Hope you have fun getting messy and if you do we would love the see the results.
love it. Have a stock of patterns for this purpose (no sewing here for years!). Will have to give it a go. Is "tacky craft glue" acid free? I use it watered down for background finishes in altered books where it doesn't matter, but not sure how it goes with photos...

Thanks Helen.
I'm not too sure Helen about the glue. Best bet would be to read the bottle or if you can check out the website for the glue and if in doubt probably best to not use it near photos.
