It feels like its been forever since I stopped by. Life has been absolutley flat chat here. Between fulltime work, 2 small businesses, studying and the little man I don't seem to stop
But I must admit I'm here for some advice Hubby has decided he wants to up and move next year and for some reason has decided on Townsville. Can anyone let me know what its like to live in, are the schools and health systems ok and will someone from the South deal with the weather????

Hi Annette! Good to see you back. You certainly are busy!
We moved from Cairns to Tasmania - the opposite direction to you! We love it down here.
Townsville (or Brownsville as Cairnsites call it) is an OK town, but I would be wary about the heat. It can be very hot and humid in summer, but winter would be delightful.
Hey! Annette. So good to see you back. How's that little man of yours? Keeping you busy by the sounds of it. Good luck with the move where ever you decided.
Lol Ant, I did suggest Cairns as well I'm not very keen on the heat and humidity, but we will see.
Little man is crazy and keeps me very busy, hasn't been much scrapping, but I think I'm starting to get the urge again, so will see where the weekend takes me.
Ok my thoughts on Townsville - the very first time we visited North Qld was to visit my brother living in townsville, we came in summer (the worst of it of course) I could not sleep at night, it was dry and blah and not green at all - went home saying if that is North Qld count me out.
The next time we came north was to Cairns - I fell in love - not so much with Cairns city itself but the surrounding country and reef and just everything about it - we went home packed up and moved here 6 months later
Good things about Townsville - It is only 3 hours drive to Scraptherpy.
the Cairns-Townsville thing is a lot like (ahem) Sydney-Melbourne etc etc. However, Cairns is more green, closer to cool places (Tablelands) and obviously has an international reputation for its place in the world.
However, Townsville is a (slightly) bigger place, more of a service centre, less dependant on tourism and so generally less vulnerable to bad times. I've never lived there, so will leave it to someone who does or has....
and both of them are a lot closer than Brisbane to Babinda
Fancy that Scraptherapy could ever be put on the good reason to move home halfway around the country list - wow I dont know if I can cope with the weight of that one on my shoulders - such pressure
