Gypsy...perhaps if you cut all the papers to the sizes you want and fiddle with them till you like tham, then stick those down. Then you can move onto your embellies and title last.
Do you live close enough to go to some classes or do you have a friend you can craft with, that you can bump ideas off?
thanks Mel no one around to bonce ideas off unforuatly we do have a scrapbook shop in town where I got to physio and shop but due to not longer being able to get phsyio on tuedays and my declining phycial health I can't get there anymore. I couldn't afford the classes but they had a drop in in tuedsay afternoons where you could just go take your own things and sometimes get a bit of help if the shop wasn't busy
Just keep playing with techniques, like spraying with ink and paint, making your own flowers, distressing and inking around paper etc...and like Antonella mentioned...scrap lifting someones LO you like in the gallery.
Just remember it is your memories and your scrapping, so it only what you think that matters...as we all scrap differently...that is the wonderful thing about this craft. We learn so much from each other.
Gypsy I have been in a similar situation. Never been to a class or scrapped at a LSS. I find I get the inspiration from looking at gallery's online. I have bought a few of the mags over the years and they are a great help also. I know they are not cheap though.

Hello! just reading through the post here and i have to say when i get stuck i go through and dig out a sketch mostly, or I scrap lift! Scrap Jacks is an awesome Challenge Blog that you scrap lift someones layout from the month and you could even win a prize!
Also i have a few Time Hotlz masks! totally love them and i was much the same just pulled them off, poked out the extra bits with a pin and just used them and popped them back on the other side of the plastic it came on.
I also find playing with paint a great way to come up with colour combos too... Mostly just play!
I am doing the red/cream room at the moment and stuck.
I have used a prima vine but I don't like the way it ends on my page. The bottom of the vine is curled a bit but its too thick to put anything over it.
If it's the type of vine that I'm thinking of Helen......the curl at the bottom never quite looks right for me either. I have undone that curl a dozen times over, turned it the opposite way, straightened it out.....almost until it nearly snapped off It does seem to need to be nestled into something I think or slightly under something. It is a bit thick but maybe cut one of the flowers off the vine or a separate flower altogether (you might need to pop a couple more of the different type randomly on the LO to blend it all in otherwise the different one might look a bit odd) and sort of place it down near the curl with it overlapping it a bit to take that circle look off it iykwim. Another idea is to tie a bow around the bottom of the vine near the curl and sort of let it hang over it. Hope this helps but neither suggestion might not fit your LO.

i too hate the way they end. here i usually will snip the end off, tie a ribbon, cluster embellies around or or use a die cut on mounting tape to cover it up.
