Hey Tiff, with end of school year coming up just wondering abotu tips of photgraphing at school concert!! (providing your allowed to with all the rules nowdays!!).

ours in outisde under vernadah and at night.

sorry if you have covered this somewhere and i ahvent connceted the dots :lol: but if you have and could point me in right direction that was be fabulous thanks!!

BB. great timing as I've just photographed my daughter's dance concert.

I always stand in the aisle near the wall, so I am in not in anyone's way. I am usually always standing up to get a clear view without the back of people's head. I usually tripod the camera (it gets heavy quickly).
I always use flash.
I sit on TV (shutter priority)
Put your ISO up fairly high, (better a grainy pic than a pic that's blurred because the shutter is too slow.
Keep the shutter speed over 1/200 or faster if you can. 1/500 if possible.
I use f2.8 so I can get the shutter faster by letting in more light thru the aperture blades in the lens. Keep the focus spot on your daughter as everything else will be a touch blurred because of using f2.8
Take a few test shots before your daughter comes on stage to see how they look.

all else fails flip over to auto or P mode.
