Gypsy the expensive ones really are worth the money. I use 4 of them for my digi SLR and they cost about $24? I usually get around 600 photos so very good value.

I think the ones I use are Duracell? They are silver and in a silver packet ( I buy mine at Coles usually) and they often have something about being specifically for digital devices on them.

I agree, pay the money, they last for ages. We also had a camera die (some years ago) supposedly because of the uneven charge from AA rechargables, so that definitely wasn't worth it. They are probably much better these days, of course, but I do find the "expensive" non-rechargables are actually the best value.

Unfortuneately Gypsy the girls are right - you get what you pay for. Buy the expensive ones and they will last an age, remember the days when we used to pay $20 for a roll of 36 film - and then a bundle more the get it printed, and then a bundle more again to get duplicate copies made. $24 for 600 photos is really pretty good value.

Definitely worth the money you get at least 500 shots (Even though they say 1000 on the packet) Depends on the camera I would assume

and also how much you use your flash Ant - good photo rate is for photos where no flash is used

Any vote for good quality non rechargables. I had heaps of trouble with the rechargeables and in the end the ease of normal ones won out. They are in my point and shoot, so not too bad on usage, my DSLR has its own battery..

My very first rechargable batteries cost me $60 for 4. These were stolen so then bought 4 at safeway for $20. Grand- daughter inherited that camera and batteries when I bought a new one. My new camera is using 4 that I purchased at Aldie for $10 and guess what, they last around 500 photos and i have not had a minute trouble with them and they are going on 12 months old and have been recharged at least 4 times.
