| Post subject: | EASTER PREPARATION! |
It's time to talk about decorating that Breakfast table! Its time to gather our little bits and pieces if you want to join me in the traditon of the EASTER BREAKFAST! The first thing that I do is pick colours! The colour of the tablecloth! It can be anything from colourful to plain! Last year my table looked like this before the family got up to see it and the cooked breakfast was added along with hotcross buns brewed tea and coffee! ![]() This year I've picked mauve! Dont faint! I know I'm not a purple scrapper... but I really liked this colour on my table for Easter! And I've bought the kids bunny ears! They humour me!! LOL! But look how great the colour in the ears are with the mauve! IT's given me ideas on decorating! ![]() So this is my start Be sure to put your ideas here - pics of your 'start' too!! Tomorrow night - I'll give you my next step! (when I make a decision!) |

Thanks girls... Great recycling Julie! I've bought new ears each year for the past 3-4 years..... all different shapes colours themes etc - some have easter egg shapes instead of ears..... anyway I figure now that I have a few different sorts I'll start to recycle them!! I wonder if the girls will notice? |

So what's this all about?? My family tradition is every Easter 'eve' - I stay up later than everyone else and decorate the breakfast table! This is where my kids see their main Easter eggs! (I leave a trail from their beds to the table) Each year- new colours! What ever you do - it can be as inexpensive or expensive as you wish - NO matter what - your family will learn to love Easter morning and share in a wonderfully cooked breakfast meal, love and laughter together as mine do. This year I have the added bonus of my parents being with us! And the sadness of my eldest daughter flying to England to live that very afternoon. So for me - this breakfast spent together will be as special as its ever been. Next on the list is what to use on the table - and I've decided that my plates etc are on their way out! I wont even admit to how old they are! Its time for a new setting - in white! Its a good excuse! Found a pic on the net that is kinda close- a bit cream coloured but you get the gist!...(being away, I cant get this started and take pics for real yet - so this will have to do!) ![]() If you pick a tablecloth or fabric that doesnt match your place settings - there are some great quality disposable plates, bowls etc that might! Dont forget napkins! Hmmn, tomorrow night, I'm thinking about the centrepiece!

wow how beautiful ..... This is the first year we are not really doing easter ...the kids are too old ..and i dont get to see my grandsons this year but when the kids where little we would have a big egg hunt in the yard ....i would write on every egg with nikko, the kids initial ( H -harmony, S-shelby, B-hayden (Bro..cause he is the only brother in the house) G-Gemilla, M-mum, and D-dad) ....and the rule was unless it had your initial on it you were not allowed to pick it up ......this worked really well as the kids got older you could hide theirs in harder places ...and the youngest one could take their time finding them. ...then we would put easter baskets on the bedroom floors ...then i would get talcum powder and sprinkle it over some bunny cardboard cut out feet, leading from each room to a window ....so you could see which window the bunny snuck the baskets in .... |

Sammi what a great idea about the initials. I never thought of that and for years had little ones crying on easter morning because the big kids found most of the eggs. How thick am I? |
