An easy peasy LO using 2" squares and some black cardstock scraps. ![]() You will need to cut 27 x 2" squares (cutting 2 of them into 4 triangles) and 8 x10" long thin strips of black cardstock. ![]() I used 25 squares laid out on the white cardstock leaving a 1" border on the cardstock. ![]() I've then matted my 4 triangles onto some scrap black cardstock. ![]() Now run the 10"strips of thin cardstock along the inside joins of the squares. ![]() I've machined stitched around the triangles and run a zigzag stitch right around the outside of the squares. (my machine wasn't playing nicely with the zigzag and missed a few of the stitches gggrrrrr) ![]() Then glue the four corners onto the LO a bit out from the inside square shape and doodle a border in between the points of the triangles. ![]() Now for some simple embellies (a doodled scalloped border from your black cardstock, some Prima Lace and flower and a small doily. ![]() I've then gone right around the outside edge with this Tim Holtz distress stain (which I love). The journalling for the layout can be written around this outside border over the stain. The title can go on the bottom of the LO and I have fixed up my zigzag stitch by drawing in the missed bits with black pen. Have fun I'll draw a name from the entries in the gallery folder at month's end and pop a little RAK in the mail to the winner. |
