We all end up with a mountain of photos over the Christmas period so what better time than now to SCRAP AHEAD......all you need to do after Christmas is pop those photos on the page. I've based this LO on Kraft cardstock and used triangles to make banners and a border. Firstly I have cut 3 strips of scrap paper all 3" wide and folded them lengthwise.
Then I have cut out little triangles all with the same edge ( the base of the triangle although it will be at the top when they are on the banner) on the folded edge of the paper. Cut them out as close as possible to each other so that the "wasted" bit in between leaves you with 2 loose triangles iykwim. I have outlined this one to make it clearer but you can just cut them out holding one on top and cutting down it's sides iykwim.
I cut quite a few (just used up all of my strips) but I just used 4 of one colour, 5 of another and 6 of the other. So here are the folded ones I need for the banner and the spares for the border.
So then you can just fold each of the ones cut on the fold over the top of some twine/string and glue them together. Leave a little gap in between each flag so it is more flexible.
I've sprayed my Kraft cardstock with some mist, holding it upright and tapped it so the drips run down. So start with the "spare" triangles and form a border along the bottom of the cardstock. You can start right on the edge or up a little from the bottom. You can see that I have started off the page with the first one so that you will get 1/2 a triangle and the same at the other end.
Now arrange your 3 little banners however you might like. You could put them all in the one corner if you like overlapping each other perhaps.
Now it's time to decide where you will place your photos.
I've cut 2 more triangles from a completely different paper (two different sizes) and added trunks for some little tree embellies and put some ribbon under the portrait photo. (just remember when you add something that goes over where your photo is meant to go, don't put any adhesive where it overlaps).
Now you just need to add a title (I've also added some of the title to the banners) and perhaps some spots for journalling. At least I know if I add some now, I'll have no choice but to write something on them.
Have fun ................. I'll draw a name from the entries in the gallery folder at month's end and pop a little RAK in the mail to the winner.
