For this month's Scrap Ahead I have used Kraft cardstock as my base and cut 5 x 3" squares, 5 x 2" squares and 5 x 1" squares from some left over Teresa Collins patterned paper. You also need to cut 3 photos 3" square or if you are scrapping ahead then you can cut some white scrap paper to place where your photos will go.
I've sanded the edges of my squares and stuck them down like this.....
BUT you can keep them all square if you want. I'm not too fussy about how I have put them down with equal distance etc but you can measure to get them all evenly spaced if you like. Note that you have a blank spot....this can be used for journalling or your title. I have done some scratchy journalling lines and a spot for the date in mine (but do this later when you have finished).
Next I've machine stitched two rows between each square and the edges as well. You can just "doodle" some stitching here if you like or hand stitch.
I've hand doodled randomly around some of the squares. You could machine stitch or a combo of both doodling and stitching.
Try some doodling between the two stitched lines around the squares.
You can now add a title or journalling lines to that spare spot. Mine has become a journalling square and my title will go across 2 of the squares in the middle.
Once again, with our scrap ahead pages, you can add so much more and change things to suit your scrapping. Give the doodling a go. I found doodling on my pages very scary to start with but once I started I think I "relaxed" with my scrapping......all of a sudden everything didn't need to be perfect and most mistakes can be fixed or turn out to be very creative.
Have fun ................. I'll draw a name from the entries in the gallery folder at month's end and pop a little RAK in the mail to the winner.
