![]() This month I've worked on an 8 1/2" x11" page (landscape orientation) of Kraft cardstock. I've cut 6 x10 1/2" long strips of different widths (depending on the size of your scraps). ![]() Distressed and inked the edges of the strips (and the cardstock base) and laid them across the page and stuck them down when I was happy with how they looked and the spacings. ![]() I've then cut out 4 different sized circles (2 of each) from a completely different scrap of paper just by drawing around different sized lids and roughly cutting them out.....no need for a perfect circle. Distress and ink the edges. ![]() then scrumple them up..... ![]() and add a small drop of glue to the centre of each working your way from largest to smallest on top. ![]() when the glue dries, cut them in half or close enough to half and give the cut edge an ink if you've been inking. ![]() Decide where your photo will go and add a scrap of lace to the bottom of it and add your cut circle flowers to the edge of the strips. ![]() Then you can cut 6 or more strips from any scrap paper that will blend in and put them randomly over the larger background strips and add some buttons to your circle flowers. ![]() ![]() You can mount this 8 1/2" x 11" page on a 12 x 12 if you prefer that size. ![]() Have fun ................. I'll draw a name from the entries in the gallery folder at month's end and pop a little RAK in the mail to the winner. |

Do I have to do this as a 8.5 x 11? Or can I alter to a 12 x 12? |

Cool. I'm loving the look of this and will try to give it a bash. My rak arrived on wednesday and I've already used some of it. Perfect for the 123 challenge. With the mint colouring. Will post on my blog tonight. Thanks again. Xoxoxo |

I love mine Julze - I just got the basic Heidi Swapp one here: http://www.scraptherapy.com.au/proddeta ... od=HS63549 It's lasted really well, but I do have my eye on the Prima rasp tool - we got to play with it at the prima roadshow: http://www.scraptherapy.com.au/proddeta ... rod=890940 |

Oh... I have a shoebox on paper scraps - just don't throw away my scraps. This is such a clever idea of a layout. |

julze2three wrote: Cool way to use up scraps! I wish i had one of those distresser tool thingys... you can use your scissors to do the same thing Julze - but the distressors are only about $2.95 and you should be able to find them somewhere in NZ |
