I’ve ‘borrowed’ an inspiration idea from my Camera Club for this month’s tutorial and challenge. My Camera club’s subject is ‘RED’, so I’ve used that idea and put a bit of a twist on it.
Lets go for a colour. Just one colour. And use that to inspire you.
I suggest you ‘google images’ and type in ‘red photography’ or ‘purple photography’ or whatever colour you choose, really look at the images and find one that sparks you.
There's a number of tutorials that you can find here on Shutter Therapy. I've written them in layman terms for both point and shoot cameras as well as DSLRS. Read thru them, select that one tute that helps you photograph the image you’ve found on Google, set up the camera as described in that tute, and go shooting.
These are direct links for the tutorials for your convenience.
Your photography challenge for the month of MAY is to have a play with Colour. If you have any questions on anything at all, I am here to help. I’m usually on line most evenings until the wee hours.
You can pop up images here in this thread for critiquing and suggestions (I only do this if I’m asked to, as I really don’t want to offend anyone). When you are happy with your final shots you can load up to 3 images into the Tiff's Photography challenge folder in the gallery for the chance to win a $25 Scrap Therapy Voucher that’s valid for a month upon receipt of the voucher code.
The winner will be announced in June on Saturday after the announcement of the new Man of the Month which is the first Friday of the month.
So go Googling, start looking around you, find that subject that really captures your imagination, read up on how to do shoot it, (ask me if you’d like direction) and go shooting.
Keep in mind that this challenge leads into the next month’s ‘SHOOT IT, SCRAP IT’ challenge, so you need to have images in the gallery to participate.

Great chal Tiff I may even try and do this one with my new collection of old gumboots. I have got plans to turn them into plant pots of sorts but haven't quiet got there yet.
Ok it's only taken me about 2 hours but I think I've finally worked out how to change the f-stop number on my camera lol! It looks like the range is only 2.8 to 8.0 and I can't get it to go under 3.6. Is there something else I need to change Tiff? (Panasonic/Lumix DMC-FZ18)
