In PS you can set up a 6x4 print to have the two images already on it so when you take that file down to HM or where ever it's already set to go without the fiddling at the kiosk. I'm not Picassa literate, so I'm not sure if you can do the same thing with that.
so glad to see the wonderful support of the forum girls helping out. This is such an awesome forum for that.
Everyone's been fantastic - so much inspiration & support
I hadn't thought to look at Picasa for that function Tiff - I will check it out next time. Thanks for suggesting it!
On another note, I found a regular film camera of mine tonight that still has a roll of film in it - I'm tempted to take it to get developed just to see if it's still ok & find out what's on it!!!
It's an old Pentax - I know I used it when I did my exchange trip to Germany when I was 16 but I've had all those photos developed... will just have to wait & see I guess!!!
Do I need a flash camera? eg all the bells & whistles on it. I find them hard to use with my shakes. I need shake free mode. to balance all out. Heheh But got love me aparently. At least I still try.

Kay. I suggest you go find a friend that has the camera you may like and ask her/him if you can pick it up and feel it in your hands. Most weight is the lenses, not the body of SLR's.
You'll know straight away if the camera feels wrong.
You'll need VR (Nikon-Vibration Reduction) or IS (Canon-Image Stabilisation) in SLR's
most point shoot cameras have that incorporated too.
Canon D1100 is a base SLR without too many bells and whistles but still a quality piece of hardware. Not that dear if you buy it with a twin lens kit.
Borrow your Dad's camera Kay - I think he asked Dad to buy him the same model so he could teach him how to use it. I'm going to try and pinch Dad's for a bit over Christmas - we can learn them together
Uncle Mick is kind of technically challenged... Dad always made sure they had the same model of sat nav, phones, computers, cameras... It was easier when he called with questions

One of the main reasons why I started with Canon for my first DSLR was a friend had the exact same one so I could ask her my million questions.......so it's wonderful of your Dad Christine to support your Uncle Mick with his gadgets!!
