Hi Tiff and Everyone!!

Hope you are all having a great sunday.. just have a couple of quick questions...

Has anyone gone from a Canon SLR to a Nikon SLR, just wondering if you have any tips for making the transition easier??? ( ohh please don't tell me i have to read that pesky manual... ughhhh) I turned my nice shiny new Nikon on yesterday ( thanks mum and dad!!!) and just about had heart failure... there is things all over the screen everywhere, it's a little scary.. ( like those extremely scary rabbit on the hungry jacks add... anyone else get freaked out by them?? giggle)

Also just wondering what types of programs and editing tools you all use??

have a Nikon, adore my Nikon - will never go back to anything else

Use Picasa3 for photo editing etc

Play with the buttons until the pesky screen goes away - I cant tell you how - sorry

What model did you get?

Oooh, that's what I've got Karen - I love it! Still learning to use it tho. And yep, I use Picasa too! It's a free download. :)

oh you lucky lucky girl.

the main difference to look at is that all the buttons and dials are back to front from Canon.

Nikon are said to have a clearer blue and their lack of noise on High ISO's is divine.

I would buddy up with someone that you see regualary that has the same Nikon and ask them the questions you need answered. That's what I did when I bought my Canon. Why Canon. Cause my friend could answer my 100 questions.

I have a d3000 the old version of the d3100 - Lea-Anne yours is more a "professional" camera where the d3100 &d3000 are for amateurs who are learning and don't have the hefty price tag - I love my camera it's so user friendly!!

thanks Ant. I'm not very Nikon literate I really don't know what's what with their different models..... Canon on the other hand, I could talk a leg off the table about the different types
