Yeah yeah - I know - we dont reeeeally celebrate Halloween in general... but for some reason I always feel compelled to at least one sort of 'Halloween-ish' project each year. Dont really know why - just cos! (I think )
This one is of my darling Black Cat (easy subject of halloween!!! ) he's a re-educated feral cat - and his journey has been a long tough one, and needless to say - he's different from any cat I've ever owned.
The twist of it all is the LO really reflects how he sees the world - scary. He's scared of everything and everyone. Mostly he's scared of being returned to his old life. He lives in fear - and never leaves the house.
The chipboard you will find - Eerie Chip Sticker Shapes Isnt the chipboard cat just the coolest(it can always be painted if you dont want the dots...but I've kept the peeled off backing to use as a mask!!!) The shapes are all quite a good size (take a look at the LO to get an idea)
Using the Tree as a Mask Using the peeled off backing as a mask - (I used the actual tree in Oct Room One)
I painted the background with a splash of black paint to create the dark atmosphere and let that dry, then placed the white tree backing on the painted page
Then painted over backing mask with mauve-grayish paint and this is how it turned out once the backing was pulled away. I coloured with black the parts of the branches that faded away on the right hand side just to give it more definition
Then added all the fabulous Eerie chipboard embellishments along with the photo etc.

thanks girls
LOL Danni - he adopted us.... weeeeelll, he was in a bit of strife and finally I got his trust and it was a LONG road after that. Getting to the vet was a big trial! I got torn to shreds getting in him in the cat carrier - and warned the vet who was laughed at me and said I'd be surprised how he will behave (he's obviously dealt with this before) and bugger me.... he was as tame as!!!(in the vet!) I couldnt believe it.
I had a cat when I was younger that was a stray my uncle's dad used to leave food out for - when my uncles dad passed away my uncle, worried the poor thing would starve, rescued the cat and brought in up to me at mum's place to look after - it clawed him to pieces to say thanks for his concern.
I spent many hours our on the lawn making friends with the darned thing when it used to come in for its evening dinner until eventually I was allowed to pat it, and then it was always my cat - no one elses. His name was Yani - I cant for the life of me remeber what happened to that cat. He must of died at some stage, but I had forgotten all about him til I saw this layout and read the story

Thanks girls...
Yeah Lee-Anne, one of the traits of a re-educated feral (not a stray cos strays have normally been handled before) are that they have a one person loyalty - almost like dog-like. Its really different. He knows when I'm sick and doesnt leave my side. He can tell if I getting a migraine before I do. its weirdy weird. Cats have sixth sense!

Love this Mandy!!! Clever idea using the backing as a mask. He is a beautiful looking cat, and understandable why he's a scaredy cat after what he's been through.
