How many of you have played with something OTP and something Chipboard?
ITs really a fabby project and the end result is really satisfying.

I've had this Star Album in my stash probably for a couple of years  Dont think they are even available anymore... anyway I've put together this little tutorial to show how easy it is to decorate any sort of OTP Chipboard project.
I know that Lee-Anne has some word albums in the shop - give them a go!

Here's my little naked little star album

This is it finished as my Christmas Day Photos from last year

Let's start:
Paint around the edges
Image

Glue one side of your chipboard and place face down on the reverse side (the unwanted side) of your paper.

Cut roughly around each shape

Turn your shape over and start sanding in downward strokes over the edge until the excess paper falls away - these Basic Grey Precision File Set are worth their weight in gold! And I've chosen MME Holly Jolly Reindeer Fly paper
Image

Then do exactly the same process with gluing the other side of the chipboard and placing it face down on a contrasting piece of paper
MME Holly Jolly Deck the Halls (reverse side)

Time to decorate:
Cover- MME Lost and Found Christmas Accessory Sheet and Prima Galaxy White Stars The big yellow bauble trim is upolstery trim...its big!

Page 2 covered
I place a doily in my little minis if they have scratchy products on a page like the little stars so they dont damage the photos on the other page or if glue is still drying... they just sit there not stuck in and easily removed...but look nice

The My Mind's Eye Christmas paper is gorgeous. Be sure you always click on the page '2' of a paper in the shop to see the reverse side!! It may take a little longer - but sometimes thats where the best bits are!! :P

Thanks girls

Cutting out figures takes away a busy background, or a bland one and then you can create your own

I really must try to cut out photos like that Mandy - I don't think to do if for layouts, but they would make them a better size for mini albums!

Just to keep in mind though:
With cut-outs... I always use photos that I have saved and can print out again and/or that have a busy/bland doesnt matter background.

I dont cut out 'one-off' photos that cant be replaced because sometimes those backgrounds give clues as to where/when taken, and any emotional attachment to things/people in background...
