Teresa has put out a wonderful canvas 12x12 sheet to play with especially if you love paint or gesso etc! It has a fabulous texture!

Here's what I did with mine:

I covered it with impasto(or modgepodge etc) Then laid some old paper doilies on top

Covered them with some gesso but also added some really old paper flowers I had.... covered them with gesso too - for more texture!

And using Teresa's Blingage Carol's Clocks I smudged the clocks with gesso too!

So this is how its looking so far.. I've also got a corner of a baby wipe and lightly wiped back the petals of the flowers to show a little colour through the gesso

Now for the tissue paper - As soon as I saw this...I bought it just for scrapping!

So tearing off pieces you need to use impasto or the like and cover both sides of the tissue paper... I just use my fingers - I like to get messy!

Then add your embellies and a pic ...

Good for you Karen - the canvas is kinda hidden and looks a 'nothing' in the shop - more like a bit of white paper unless you read the product name and see that its actually canvas!!!

Its paper backed - and I did a daft thing cos it was rolling up either ends and tried to unroll it the other way - dont do that- it just creased! So you can see that in my pics! Should have just weighed it down on the corners and let it straighten itself out! :roll: live and learn!

It becomes easy I think Gypsy - the more working with messy stuff like paint etc - the more you practice with it. At first I remember being a bit scared of it - and I had more then my fair share of stuff-ups....
but slowly I got the hang of it.

Like anything.... just needs a little practice to get familar with how its handled - AND you gotta not mind being messy LOL! :wink:
