This week I have a quick little step by step using a few different dies.. It's time to dust them off and give them a bit of use!
Our first step is to die cut 2 of the dress forms. I have used the Tim Holtz Mini Dress form die and two different papers - a light and dark.
Next up - I cut the top and bottom of the stand part of the dress form of the darker die cut piece, and also gave her a bit of cleavage lol
I then stuck the darker piece on top of the light dress form.
I pulled a piece of tulle out of my junk bits and bobs box, and cut it to about 1 1/2 inches in height and 4 inches wide, gathered it up, and tied some string around the middle to hold it in place, I also gave it a little blob of glue to help just hold it in place.
To finsih her off and give her a bit more of a spooky feel, I inked the edges of the dress form stand, and die cut some cute little bats out of the new Halloween Shadows die
I then stuck my bats down onto the dress form and it's done. This could be done in any colour combo and would make a gorgeous embellishment on a layout.
I've put mine on a tag, and added in one of the Tim Holtz Ornate plates, and given it a light swipe with a pitch black paint dabber
For the ribbon at the top of my tag I've used the seam binding from the Tim Holtz Trimmings. I've given it a very light spritz with water, and swiped it with two different colours of distress ink to colour ink. The very light mist with water helps the colour to blend so you get nice tones.
The little pumpkins have also been cut from the halloween shadows die
Hope you enjoyed my little step by step. I'd love to see if you make any of your own dress forms.
WOW Karen, love all the tags you create..you will be giving Tim a run for his money soon...so very creative and cool.I guess it helps to have AWESOME products to work with hey
