Happy Friday Everyone, hope you have all had a wonderful week..

This week I have a little technique to chare with you, that I really love, making your own resist paper.

Using just a few bits and pieces:

Image

I'm using a tag to show you this technique, but it could be very easily used on a layout here and there as an accent...

The first thing to do is to choose your stamp you wish to use, I've used a sheet music type stamp, but you could use anthing. and stamp you image in the desired areas using either a clear embossing or watermark ink. Make sure you give your stamp a good clean after using.

Image

Cover your entire stamped image in clear embossing powder, and shake of the excess and replace into your jar.

Heat your stamped image with a heat gun, you will see the powder become clear and shiny as it heats.

Your whole image will have changed and become clear and shiny when it's done. Leave it too cool for a minute or two.

The next thing to do is to ink your surface.

Image

And give it a gentle buff over the embossed areas and you're done... The embossed areas will resist the ink, and show off your design through the darker ink colour.

I have also used a similar stamp on a manilla coloured tag.. this was the result.

I added in a few other die cut pieces.. and this was the finsihed product:

I hope you have a play with this, it really is a lot of fun.

Products used:

The watermark ink pad i used is currently outof stock, but either of these ones would work just as well
Distress Embossing Ink
Perfect Medium
Distress Ink
Tim Holtz Snowflake Rosette
Tim Holtz Festive Greenery Die I used this for the holly leaves
This prima stamp would work really well,
so would this Dylusions Background stamp set, or for a christmas theme, this would work really well

Absolutely stunning Karen - I might have to have a play this weekend - my internet is patchy at best at the moment so good excuse not to do any work and play instead
