Have you got a problem with your card or LO?

Is there an embellishment your stuck on?

Are you in a rut?

Maybe you cant find something in the forum to help you out

Are you scrapping the same way over and over?

Or maybe cant put your finger on what you need to do and cant quite get it together?

I'm sure as a collected group here at Scrap Therapy - we've all experienced something that isnt working or have gotten stuck - OR found solutions to get over tricky bits and have wonderful peals of wisdom!

Lets share..... if you have a problem with your scrapping...

ASK AWAY!!! There's bound to be someone here that knows just the right thing to say!

Yes please.

I am stuck in a rut, I have been doing the same type of scrapping forever. I would like to venture more into the shabby/vintage at the moment but for some odd reason I am stumped. I have done a little in classes but I sit down and I always draw a blank. I like to paint, so I have acrylics, oils, watercolours, pastels and even watercolour pencils. No I am not afraid to try something different but put a photo in my hand, even with all these painting and lots of craft and scrapping supplies surrounding me, [I have almost taken the office over entirely  ] I draw a blank. :?
Help.

Gypsy and Trisha...

stuck in a rut/ Scrapping the same way over and over

this is where blind scraps and step by steps etc are great things because it kinda guides you to do things you normally wouldnt - I know this forum in very young now in not having a lot of achival things... but try do some of the steps by steps Julie Deb and I have shown you this month and last..

Getting stuck halfway thru things

Boy I know this one!!
Usually walking away and coming back to it at another time helps... sometimes looking in the gallery or blogs or mags creates ideas. Even on some occasions - I just put it aside and start again completely different, and the 'put aside stuff' gets used for something else and usually goes quite well second time around! LOL!

Right now am pondering the brown and yellow page and I had plans of doing up an album of my Dad to pass on to my neices who never knew him :(

This sounds like a wonderful idea Gypsy! I'm glad you have found your flower punch and try make some sunflowers or the like! Have you got some ribbon or trim??

And still going I bought some Tim Holts masks and i have no idea how to get them ready to use it says gently rub to remove the unwanted bit I have rubbed for all I am worth ( not much ) i don't even know if i am rubbing the right area, no way i can use a knife I am not steady enough any suggestions thanks

I've used my Tim Holts ones... and to be truthful - I didnt even read the instructions (I'm very norty with things like this) and ripped it off (was a clock one) and used it and then stuck it to the back of the clear plastic it was originally from and never thought about it again... so now just reading your post... I've just gone to have another look... and all the left over bits had stayed behind when I first tore the mask off....
So I dunno?? In my ignorance  - it worked fine without doing this rubbing  ! Deb uses them - so hopefully she will weigh in here!

Trisha,
I do have some old Shabby Classes in step form in my folders that I did for Scrap Therapy when I was on the DT last time.. they will need adapting paper wise because I used Daisyd's paper - some of which may or maynot still be in the shop... but similar would work...
I'll ask Lee-Anne if I can repost them and see how that goes

Sorry no help here on the Tim Holtz masks (I don't have any) just a prima one. Mandy is right, the best way to get out of a rut and out of being stuck doing the same type of scrapping is to get into the blind scraps and step by steps. Also if you are doing a layout, just lay it all out in your usual style, no sticking and just keep coming back to it and adding some little extras from your stash and not necessarily matching items. You will be surprised how well things blend together at times. Tuck things in behind others and try to "build" your page up until you are happy with it. Walking away does help.

and YES Deb!! that is a great tip... I dont stick anything down either until the end... and LOL and even sometimes photograph my LO before I've stuck it down because rest assured...it never goes back to the way I had it once moving stuff to stick down!!

Some great tips there Deb and Mandy.

I'm not help at all with the masks as I don't have any here.

Doing blind scraps and steps will help, going back and checking out some of the past challenges or visiting the gallery and lifting a layout (giving credit for it) that you like will also help too.

I don't stick anything down here and have been named the queen of fiddling by a friend as I will fiddle for ages before sticking anything down.

Lee-Anne has suggested to add a folder into the forum with a name like 'old classes revisted' or the like...

so we'll pop them in there.

I'll let you know in this thread when its ready to go.

Maybe Julie might have a couple of her old classes tucked away in the bowels of her computer (LOL) like I have!!!

the best thing to do will be maybe scrap lift (Where you find a layout you love and just copy it - if displaying on blog or gallery make sure you make reference where is was copied) this tends to get the inspiration going, Also google some sketches they are great for getting you started
