Darned hotspots!! I knew it!!
Yeah.. I just experimented with the tinting after B&W-ing the photo. I thought I'd put up the B&W version - but obviously didnt
Shows how good your eye is!
Now here's my little friend ... we had a beautiful day here today and look who was out and about in the garden too! Wish i thought to get rid of that blurry ivy leaf in the front... but one has to be quick with wildlife... its like 'get the shot!!!!'

goodness, you are good to get the little fella.
try cropping it so you can remove that leaf even if you crop it as a pano, just a long thin one that goes up and down. It'll look arty then
pano usually means that one side is twice as long as the other. eg. 20cmx10cm.
then... pesky leaf problem solved and you get to keep all of his body from head back to just behind his shoulder, and the little daisies in front of his nose as well.

Okay cropped it down. You can 'just' see a little blur from the tip of the leaf, but when I cut the little daisy in half - it looked yuck...so keeping that lower daisy in kinda balanced out the shot better.

I hope my little birdie friends visit tomorrow. I usually have to stand still and wait for them to come otherwise if I go out when they are there they take off.
That's a gorgeous shot of your little friend, Mandy.

Yep, that's why they come, Tiff. I put seed in the feeders but any noise and they are off. They usually come back eventually to fill their tummies so I'll just have to wait.

thats just it... especially with finches - they are soooo suspicious of anything and everything - and very flighty of any of the bird variety... just one movement - and they're gone! I cant get away with being in the garden so have to make do with through the glass in the kitchen...I REALLY need a better zoom lense than the 'garden variety' one (pardon the pun) I've got! ugh.
Ooooor I could just take pics of my own finches - but they get so stressed when I put the lense into their cage - they hate it!

yeah that blur was a pain, but it was a shame to loose all the background daisies... soo much to think about when doing a shot!! Its not until you get to look a the pic afterwards, you realise just what hasnt been thought about (if only there was time - specially with wildlife!)
