Congrats to all the Thompson's!!! How exciting!!
Well I've been soooooooo busy these past few weeks with Kinder stuff, kids activities, our holiday house and just generally surviving!!! But I think my body knows it will be getting a holiday soon as it's decided to start failing me. I've had a sore throat for the past 3 days and this morning I woke up all stuffed up and sneezy. I feel yuck!!! Thankfully I'm not working until tomorrow night with another and the last Kinder concert. I have a pre admission appt at the hospital tomorrow and I am packing myself. I hate hospitals!!! And both the only surgeries I've ever had were emergencies, so I don't have positive feelings about them. Can't wait till it's all over!!!
I can't wait till this last week and a half is over so I can chill a bit!!!
ooh bec, you've got way much on your plate... get some difflam forte spray from the chemist for your throat! I swear by it!
Thanks Mandy and Lee-anne. Forgot about those. I've just been sucking on strepsils but I think I need something more. Heading to the shops shortly and will get some.
im afraid i may have to wake the kiddies today, they go to bed between 7-730pm and last night due to school concert it was 10 03pm!!!! My little kindy girl was exhausted and could see she was almost asleep when they where singing!!! Just Lucy of to school today for her last day of pre primary and we are on late bus so she can sleep until 8am.
at least they should sleep most the drive to mum and dads this arvo.

Missy's last day of school today too. Going to make sure I take the camera down at pick up to get a photo of her with her teacher. Asher has blossomed so much this year and it is mainly due to the support that both of us have gotten from her. Was hoping that she would stay with the year 6 classes next year so that she would still be her teacher but it looks as if she is going into the year 5 straight class.

Well Missy's last day at school was a happy one and I even managed to snap a photo of her with her teacher.
Wish I could say that about her dance rehearsal though. Two girls in her tap class were saying nasty things about her and she was getting so upset about it that she had a meltdown in front of half the dance school children and parents. In the end one of the other parents who knew both the girls from school went out and talked to them both telling them to leave her alone and after rehearsing her dance Asher mentioned what had been happening to the teacher and she had a talk to all three of them. The main one came out of the room in such a mood after the talk that she threw her hat down on the floor.

thats horrible, poor asher! It leaves a nasty taste in everyone's mouths when things like that happen especially for an event that is supposed to be fun and confidence-building.
Lets hope the rest of the rehearsals/concert goes by smoothly now.
The one with attitude throwing the hat - wouldn't last with me. Its not the first time I've asked parents to reconsider sending their child - who obviously is not happy.
I hope Asher enjoys her concert Julie - I never did dance as a kid but hearing my godsister talking throughout the years made my skin crawl.
It's been a bit of a stressful day here today, but I'm back in Brissie again on Saturday, and I really need some quality time with family. I did managed to spend my voucher at the Cairns store this morning though and it was nice to browse so close to home

I had a really happy upbringing through dance I think my mother had a lot to do with that (she stood no nonsense from us or others ) And I'm still in touch with a number of my dancing friends that have lasted through many decades , more so than any school friend Any peer nastiness is universal ... it can happen anywhere with kids who are not happy unless they are taking someone else out Mostly they get away with it cos its not addressed and in some cases enabled by parents sticking up for them
My teenage years at school consisted of living in fear of school peers finding out I did dance. Dancing was sooo not cool in the 70's at highschool!
Julie I really hope that Asher isnt giving up dance because of these sorts of nasty kids?

Had wonderful news this morning, my DS received his VCE results and he has achieved results over and beyond our expectations After 2 years of hard studying and dedication he has got a ATAR score in the very high 90's We have no doubt now that he will be accepted in the Uni course he dreamed of. So very proud!!!! He is now off to the school to meet up with the local news channel and newspaper for interviews, much to his embarrassment
