Love the pics girls.

I played around today taking some. I said to a friend the other day that I was thinking of starting up a collection of old gumboots to try and use as planters and she gave me some that she found at a market. There were two sets of purple ones so I popped them up near the back gate that had a purple flower vine growing over and took a heap of pics. This one is my favorite.

sorry for the delay in coming back here. Been 'out of office' (home lol) AGAIN......

Gis..... the lines and the textures in the blinds are really cool. You've cropped in close and kept the one colour as the dominant feature. Unlike the dancing image and the eyes, there's too much of every other colour. Not just the one.
I gather you having a bit of trouble wrapping your head around just the one colour. If it helps, try looking at things in a macro perspective. Ie. I'm looking at the air holes on my black external hard drive. Its black, its texture, its different. But above all, its just one colour.

The tomatoes are perfect. Everything is green. Not a shred of any other colour. Try a tight crop. Remember the proportions. Meaning what size do you want to print, and crop accordingly.

does that help with 'seeing things' :?:

Julze. the brocolli is all green. Perfect. The flower with the bee has green in the background. Try a tight crop. The red lettuce(??) works for me with a slightly tighter crop to lose the green in the top left corner and the out of focus sections. The orange flowers has a lot of green in the background, so you've two colours in that are dominant in the shot.

Julie. Can you reshoot the purple boots and really focus on the boots. Try postioning them in an interesting way so they in all in the shot, not with a bit of a boot clipped off the edge and to eliminate the background as much as possible. I just had an idea, try focussing on just the sole of a boot that's lying down with the other boot positioned on top somehow.. its purple, its texture, its different. And you're playing with depth of field. I'd read the arpeture tute to refresh you if you need it.

Well done ladies............keep em coming

t

Julez.

Yep!!!!!
Just be aware that when you crop in super close, the focus needs to be spot on.

I took a few more pics yesterday. Not sure if I'm getting them any "clearer" though :|

I'll be back with pics soon. Just gotta drop DD off at the S.P.C.A...
