Hi there Helen.

you are awesome. You've done very well chook.

I love the first one the most. The soft lighting, the clarity and the details. How cool is this as a white with one 'shoot it, scrap it' for next month (hint hint)

In fact I love them all. There's nothing I would change or fiddle with. I'm really happy with them as they are.

:!: :!: :!:

Gis. copy and pasted from the first page for you.

Your photography challenge for the month of MAY is to have a play with Colour. If you have any questions on anything at all, I am here to help. I’m usually on line most evenings until the wee hours.

You can pop up images here in this thread for critiquing and suggestions (I only do this if I’m asked to, as I really don’t want to offend anyone). When you are happy with your final shots you can load up to 3 images into the Tiff's Photography challenge folder in the gallery for the chance to win a $25 Scrap Therapy Voucher that’s valid for a month upon receipt of the voucher code.

The winner will be announced in June on Saturday after the announcement of the new Man of the Month which is the first Friday of the month.

go get em girl!!

Photobucket doesn't always play nice for me either.
You can upload via Scrap Therapy 'load file' button if all else fails.
And you don't need Photobucket to put images in the gallery (I'm guessing you already knew that one  )

mwah.

Hey there Kay.
I'm wondering about you using a little tripod. Something not too heavy or too large, but not too light for your camera, and not too light to blow over in the breeze. This will be the best way to beat the shakes. Or up your ISO so your shutter speed is over 1/500 of a second. Sometimes a tripod is not practical or just a PITA .

Take your camera with you and if its a SLR have your biggest heaviest lens on. Go into a Camera shop and explain your situation so you can have a tripod that fits you best.

Now, as far as this shot goes, the shakes have affected it as the focus is soft, and while the main focus is yellow, the green foliage and the shadows overwhelm the yellow.

I would like you to zoom closer in to the centre of the bloom to cut out nearly all of the green, or find a bigger subject that's more accessible for you. What about the dimples of a golf ball. You could do that on your kitchen table? Or thinking bigger, do the kids have any bodypaint they use for their sports day?? Get the kids dressed in their house colour and photograph them. Or the tread pattern on a tyre. A ball of knitting wool.

Really open the eye to the possibilities all around you. Actually stop and do a very slow circle and LOOK in front, above and below to see whats around. Its all out there, you just need to see it.

hope that helps a bit.
