I've used this Tim Holtz Bird Branch Die alot in my scrapping, but this time, I used the die as a mask... but cut the little bird off. (that can be used somewhere else )
I still wanted to dull the background down a bit with some subtle masking. Using Ranger Snowcap Dabber it covered it perfectly...
Repeat this technique about four times on the top half of the gingham paper
Have you seen Tim Holtz 'Trimming' in the shop and overlooked it cos it looks kinda 'bland' - weeeeell take another look....it can be sprayed with mists... theres fabulous rosettes and seam binding all ready to be sprayed to the colour you love! (I spray onto or sometimes in ziplock bags)
The pink mist I've used isnt in the shop... but here's one close in colour Ranger Dylusions Bubble Gum or just type 'mist' in the search box and see a colour you'd perfer
Oooh and the title work!!! This lettering is fairly big and cut in my bigshot machine and I love it. Its fairly expensive die but used over and over in colours/papers/canvas etc you like - it would certainly soon pay for itself in no time. Its Tim Holtz Word Play Alphabet. The lettering would look great with Dimensional Magic (probably would have done this but was under the pump to get this LO finished in time The lettering here is the left over scraps from the papers under the photos Gotta love using up heaps of scraps!
See here that there is both the negative and positive lettering used. I also took the lid off the dabber and painted inside the negative lettering.... plus dabbed and smeared some more white paint to dull down the check a little.
That is seriously the best way to get matching ribbons and flowers etc - beautiful layout Mandy as always - thanks for the great ideas - I really want to play on the weekend - might just have to dig out my spray mists
