MBM_09_Chall_4(1).jpgBloom where you are plantedChall 4 MBM - I only recently picked this rose from my Mum's garden (it was her favourite rose) so I wanted to do a LO to frame. I have done a photo extension with watercolours on the photo and also printed an extra larger photo onto canvas paper to use as a background under the pizza box (courtesy of Leeanne) frame. Mounted the original photo onto canvas which has been sprayed with a antique solution. Dry brushed over the extra silhouette photos of the rose to make them "shabbier"

Close up of the photo extension with water colours. I extended the leaves and the vase.

The end result.....I put the LO in a frame (which I have had for forever and never thought I would use) - unfortunately I couldn't get the glass out so the photo is very dodgy. tfl

Used AC- Blush. Heidi Grace Paisley, KC Magic night & pearls,Treasures Antique White. This is my DD & GD and is the first page of an album for my Grandaughter when she turns 18 ( a while to go yet) as they live in the UK it will feature her Aussie visits to see grandparents and other relly's, & our visits over there. The Journalling is sitting in a pocket that hides more photos. It reads "Emma when your mother sent her wedding dress for me to make into a Christening outfit I was so nervous about that first "cut" it took me a few weeks to actually start it. I made 2 complete outfits, 1 for a girl & 1 for a boy. I also decorated your Baptismal Candle and carried it all the way to England in my hand luggage so it wouldn't get damaged"

IMG_3410_1.JPGMBM 5- Always Behind the CameraThe flowers are home made, and the photo of me I have 3d, this lifts up to reveal little photo's of some of my layouts and mini me's also my journalling . Small problem....journalling to small so will have to type it.
When did I start scrap booking? I don't really know, I look back at my photo albums from 20 years ago and realize that's probably a form of scrapping, as I would cut all the boring or unwanted bits from photo's making them all different shapes & sizes so I could put more onto a page. DH would call it being to stingy to buy more pages, I call it being artistic.
About 5 years ago I went to a Scrapbooking party, I must say I didn't enjoy it as I felt pressured to be "creative" there & then, it wasn't until a couple of years later I picked up a scrap magazine and saw all the wonderful creations and I was instantly hooked, thats when my passion for this craft really started my inspiration comes from some of these magazines along with the Scrap Therapy forum of course.
Over the last few months I have noticed my scrapping has changed, I now love having lots of layers with yummy distressing and inking and making my own flowers is a must (although I have bought some gorgeous Prima ones) so I guess I am leaning towards "Shabby Chic"
With each new page I create I get a great sense of satisfaction and find I can't wait to start a new project, at times even getting out of bed in the middle of the night just to write down ideas, now that is an addiction..........and I love it.

MBM_09_-_chall_5.jpgMBM Chall 5Journalling reads:- 7thJuly2009-I'm 51 yrs old and life is pretty good. This layout was done as part of a compteition for ScrapTherapy - my online home. I started scrapbooking about 9yrs ago and I'm still as passionate about it now, if not more. I can't imagine it not being part of my life. I love it. I am inspired each and every day by other people's scrapbooking. I love to try out new things on my layouts. What is my style???? I think I've got one....just not sure how to describe it. I love to "doodle" at least something on my pages - just to leave my "mark". I am in love with the "shabby" look at the moment. I hope in the years to come, my family will continue to enjoy what I have created for them. I hope they can see the love that I have put into my pages and will realize how much this thing called scrapbooking means to me. I'm not too worried about how neat my pages are or if you like my writing or can even read it sometimes. This is me. This is from the heart.15 comments07/10/09 at 08:34Sandra D: Oh my goodness - great page ...
