Hi to the ladies living in humid conditions!!! my sister is home for a visit before heading back to St Vincent in 2wks. she just got married and i bought the prima canvas album which we were going to use for a wedding album for her. then mum said "what about the humidity, would it go mouldy".

so what do you think? can you buy covers for the canvas album? or any suggestions how to keep it mould free?

i know this has been discussed some time ago but cant remember what the solutions were so any advice would be much appreciated :D

I know Lee-Anne recommends using mod podge if you're making covers out of corregated card board, but I can't see canvas being a problem if it's stored properly? I just make sure I have a couple of containers of damp-rid in the cupboard where I store my craft things, and I haven't had any trouble so far...

I keep my albums in a closed cupboard with a container of damp rid or hippo too. I have a few fabric covered ones (not the same as canvas I know) and have had no trouble with mould on them. I do paint all my home-made album covers (cardboard) with a sealer though. I was going to suggest buying one of those cardboard gift boxes the right size for the album to keep out the moisture but wonder if the box may become a mould problem too being cardboard (and not acid free if that is a concern). Not sure, Belinda.

Mine are in a cupboard Belinda and not on display. I don't keep them in plastic or anything though.

I've never had any real trouble but then again I don't have any OTP's or canvas albums. I know Mel had trouble with a few OTP's that she'd done ... they were stored on a shelf & I don't think they were sealed.

That would be great Belinda - I have a canvas album that I made at the Prima Roadshow, but that was only late last year so I have no idea how it will hold up long term yet...
