HI Gis. If you use another editing program already and you are happy with it, go for it. The idea of the Picasa tute is for anyone who'd like to give it a shot, or is already using it and wanting to know more about it.
You can edit as much or as little as you like. Until you are happy with the shot. That's the main crux of photography. If you are happy with your image, then that is the important bit. There is always room for improvement (me included), but as long as you are happy with your shot, that's great.
As far as the door goes in the shot, you've done about as good as it going to get, except if you'd like to have a go at retouching. here
Ideally you would have positioned her better before pressing the shutter.
Tip for everyone. get it right in the camera first, means so much less time on the computer later.

hope that helps a bit. tiff
thank you that is great help. yes i have moved the chair over in some of the shots. as i must have noticed, but this one was a cute photo of Zarah. she dont sit still lol, i was bribing her with shape bisuits lol
this is yet another unfinished editing. i think as i come back i see what else i like to do. originaly i was going to put 3 photos into one, but then the 3rd photo didnt match very nicely with the other two. I want to do some hand painting and make the grass and background black and white. or make the grass little bit more green looking... i have another photo i edited like this one of my younger daughter would you like to see?

clever girl blending two shots into one...... for those who are not sure what Gis has done, she's taken the two girls and put them in the one photo.
how cool is that.
load em up babe and lets see what you've got

WOW Gis! Waaaay too technical for me! Although I think I will definitely have a play while I'm on holidays (seeing as I won't be able to take my scrapping stuff with me!).
my goodness this is clever. Is this done in Picasa????
no picasa, photoshop. i have hard enough trouble trying to operate the basic picture office manager thingy on my computer to just resize my photos etc as i m used to photoshop too much. i ve used photoshop for 10 years now and i think its the problem of having so much control in photoshop that i struggle with basic stuff.

This news just dropped into my inbox. adobe elements 10 at only US$50 at the adobe store.
This is seriously great value. It doesnt say how long this price will hold, but I'd jump on it.
Elements is the basic Photoshop. Creative Suite (I have CS5) is the bells and whistles. And is seriously expensive. CS6 is nearly due for release, so I'm wondering if Elements 11 is not far away either. Grab Elements 10 at this price and then you can upgrade to 11 for only a very small charge, rather than full price.
